When I watched the “Happy” videoclip I was immediately struck by the hat that Pharell Williams was wearing for its strange shape! I discovered that the Mountain Hat was initially produced in 1982 for the fashion show “Nostalgia of Mud” by Vivienne Westwood, whose collection took inspiration from the imagination of Peruvian women and their bowler hats in felt. I tried really long to find it, until I stumbled on the site Headict and I discovered their huge catalog dedicated to the Men Hat. And when I say huge I mean huge: fedora, panama, cylinder, caps, flat caps, fur hats. There is any object that is useful to cover your head!
With a hat so important, creating an outfit can be really complicated. I do not deny that I changed clothes several times to understand what were better. In the end I stayed true to my streetwear style, peering even among the outfits that Pharrell did. I decided to use a vintage football t-shirt by Upline Clothing in shades of gray, along with a pair of 3/4 shorts in denim by Daniel Palillo and sneakers in suede and leather of Unico. As accessories I chose Ray-Ban sunglasses, Aviator model, in the 70s version with yellow clear lens, oversized bracelets with beads (in wood and steel) and my new animal-ring by Toko.
A less formal version of a mountain ranger!
