UNDER/CONSTRUCTION is a brand by Eliran Ashraf, a textile designer graduated in Israel particularly related to the creation of textiles and clothing pieces combing two worlds: the world of yemeni jewish textiles and the urban world ruled by modern architecture. A search that explores the tribal influences of the clothes through multiple urban angles such as grid lines, construction sites, cranes and building skeletons to express the multi cultural mix we are living in.
Choosing to embark a brand with t-shirts was a simple choice. Simple because for many it is the most favorite garderobe item and because it’s a challenging medium in which you are forced to express your design message in a simplified, minimalistic way.
This collection T/SHIRT 15-1 contains models in grey, white, blue & black colours with abstract architecture prints and a variety of fabrics all designed by the designer through combined techniques such as screen printing, painting, digital printing and hand embroidery. Each T/SHIRT in the collection is signed with a hand made yemeni embroidered stitched found in the right part of the collar.
