In the last two years there has been a rebirth of the bow tie as important accessory in the male wardrobe. The inspiration of contemporary men’s fashion has moved from the last decades to a more distant past. A past where the bow tie was a weapon in the arsenal of the old gentleman.
But this historical recovery doesn’t seek only to catapult these accessories from the past: a process of modernization updated the bow tie as current as possible, focusing on new colors and/or new materials.
PrinTIE is the first transparent bow tie in PVC, born from the drawing and creativity of two young Italian fashion designers Gianluca Lattuchelli and Pierluigi Ciccotelli. Creativity and craftsmanship come together to create an unusual accessory, made in Italy, with endless texture, endless combinations and endless mode of use. PrinTIE is ideal for different outfits, from a tuxedo to a casual look, even more underground.
And I was inspired by this style to create the outfit with the Rebus model by PrinTIE taken from the Enigma collection. The shirt by Cheap Monday used the same texture of the bow tie, while the pants I chose is a particular model of Ettore Pancaldi. The outfit is completed by an oversize waistcoat by Gestuz, the dirty brogue by CULT and the Amish-style hat of Minimum.
I was wearing:
Papillon: PRINTIE
Shirt: CHEAP MONDAY
Pants: ETTORE PANCALDI
Waistcoat: GESTUZ
Shoes: CULT
Hat: MINIMUM
