Very often the features that would be useful are not available for our technological devices. Technology is making headway, and companies do their best to create more updated models. But buying every time a new device is impossible. Thank goodness the accessories tries to remedy this problem.
Surely many of you will have a mirorrless or a digital SLR. But if they are not of the latest generation, every time you want a photo on your smartphone, you must connect the camera to the computer via a cable or, in the best cases, insert the SD card directly into the PC.
Toshiba Flash Air
Thanks to a wireless SD card as the Toshiba Flash Air instead we can post pictures taken with the mirorrless or digital SLR directly to Instagram or Facebook using the smartphone. Just plug the SD in the camera and take pictures, that will be saved on the card as with any other type of SD memory card.
At this point you need to download the app Flash Air on your smartphone, available for IOS, Android and Windows Phone devices. Once opened, the app must be connected to the memory card via the WiFi of your smartphone. Just go to the WiFi settings and find the SD.
How it works
Normally the memory card name is “flashair” followed by an alphanumeric code. The first time you connect the app to the memory card will require an 8-digit password, which you can find in the leaflet of instructions. For almost all the Toshiba Flash Air cards the default password is 12345678. Through your app settings, you can change this password every time you want.
The SD wireless cards take the energy from the camera battery. So every time you want to connect to download your photos you will need to keep the camera on. Remember, we need at least 10-15 seconds from when you turn on the camera before the wireless card is able to accept the connection.
Once connected, you can view all the photos that are on the card in a convenient grid. Every time you open a photo the app will download the photos directly on your smartphone and from there you can do all the operations you want, to modify it using some other apps or post it directly on the social networks like Instagram or Facebook. When you decide to do this, the smartphone is disconnected from the card and look for the internet access. I admit that sometimes I’ve had to do this manually, especially if I wanted to send the photos through WiFi at home.
The Toshiba Flash Air wireless memory card is the most convenient solution if you’re traveling and don’t want to miss sharing your moments!
