You might think that a suit with sneakers is elegant as much as sandals with socks. And it’s almost true. It’s a combination for all those guys who prefer comfort to style. But now that fashion has figured out that you can be stylish even in comfort, elegant look with sneakers became a new commandment of men’s fashion.

While the sandals with socks is fitted for the boys in inter-rail and German tourists (both with cargo shorts), suits and sneakers are definitely easier to combine creating an elegant look.

Choose the right sneakers for an elegant look

Wearing pair of sneakers is a big statement. So we must choose quality shoes, with premium materials, made with traditional techniques and with particular details.

In this outfit I choose the adidas Superstar Reflect that can be found exclusively in JD Sports stores. An iconic 70s shoe with the upper in shiny material, the typical contrast rubber shall toe, a padded tongue and the three-stripes-logo on the sides.

Tips for the right match

Let the rest of the look as simple as possible. Stay on a slim cut, especially for pants. You can also play with the length, just above the tongue of the shoes: it’s right to show off the sneakers

Don’t match the top with the shoes: they will seems even more “different” in style. Play with the colors, but avoid anything that you might wear at work or while jogging. Do not choose fabrics that will make your shape more relaxed, otherwise the look will seem too “sporty”.

And finally mind to trends, but with moderation: the sneakers are used to give a more relaxed look to a type of outfit often too stuffy. Using a waistcoat, a pouch pocket, a pinstripe or padded shoulders will make you even more rigid. And no sneakers will can save you!
