There is a place in Rome where food and cats come together strongly. No, I’m not talking about the (bad) usual common place of Chinese restaurants that cook cats, but a real Cat Bristot.
Romeow Cat Bistrot is born from the Japanese concept of Neko Cafè, Japanese coffee shops where customers can observe and possibly play with cats.
Mainly born from the ban to accommodate pets in Japanese residential complex, now Neko Cafes are considered awereness places to the cause of cats’ straying and ill-treatment: in these cafes cats do not receive unwanted attention and will not wake up if they are sleeping.

Romeow has turned this concept becoming a refined bistro, open from morning for a hearty and healthy breakfast through to evening dinner, with seasonal menus – strictly Vegan and Raw.
Food created in respect of biodiversity, with products from organic farming with an eye to the Gluten Free needs.
Breakfast at Romeow Cat Bistrot
In the morning the cats might be a bit sleepy, but you will be impressed by the vintage and internationally interior design of the bistrot, specifically created to accommodate the community of cats (which comes from the no-profit organization “Luna Di Formaggio”).
The Cafè offers a variety of beverages, starting from traditional cappuccinos (with rice, soy or brown milk), hot chocolate, tea and herbal teas, but also fruit and vegetables extracts and smoothies made with coconut, almond or hazelnut milk.
The most delicious part are dedicated to the cakes: for me the most good ones are the Mousse Cake and the White Cake. The first is an explosion of chocolate, both in mousse on top and the biscuit in the lower part, accompanied by caramelized dried fruits. While the second is a vegan version of cheesecake, with soy yogurt and a cascade of red fruits. But there is also space for more traditional muffins and Raw Cake, the raw food cake.
A good way to start the day, with some purrs.
