There are few essential elements of the male wardrobe that you can always rely on and one of these is the shirt. Regardless of how it is made, the shirt is able to give elegance to any outfit. A truly versatile garment that can be paired with both work trousers and weekend jeans.
The most popular and used are those in natural colors – such as white, cream or brown – or more casual ones – like Scottish square shirts. But for a subversion of the rules that goes slightly further, to make your outfit a little more personal, you can choose a man oversized shirt.
A “classic” man oversized shirt
Although they are more suited to a casual look, man oversized shirts are not an excessively eccentric quirk. There are also models available in classic materials and colors, such as the one proposed by COS that you see in this post.
It is a classic light blue shirt, that can be adapted to any outfit for an evening with friends. The proportions are slightly over, making it a piece to wear with light trousers, even without slipping it inside.
How to pair the shirt
When choosing lightweight trousers, we can avoid the usual chinos. We are aiming for example at sweatpants. Once wearing a suit, it was a habit to reserve for gym or home. Today we can safely wear the sweatpants even with a shirt.
Obviously, having chosen an oversized shirt, it is best to avoid hip-hop sweatpants. We must focus on those with a slimmer cut, especially on the legs. In this post, for example, the Zara sweatpants have a red bright color and a checkered side band that interrupts the fullness of the colors of the two garments.
Finally, let yourself go to the sneakers. But aim for a more neutral color, like beige, and you’ll be ready for an appointment.
