Adidas Originals continues to support the biggest names of music, announced Pharrell Williams as a new contributor to long-term. To say tPharrell is a pop culture phenomenon is an understatement: the rapper and producer has been instrumental in pushing the adidas Originals lifestyle in 2014, and his love for the Stan Smith has been critical to the success of the model since it was relaunched earlier this year.
The first collection Pharrell x Adidas Originals focuses on Stan Smith. Entitled the ‘Solid Pack’, the collection presents three monochromatic Stan Smith in red, black and blue. A minimalist collection with, for the first time, Adidas chooses to work with a designer who already has a textile company. Adidas will use the Bionic Yarn fact yarn created by The Vortex Project, an initiative Parley for the Oceans (created by Pharrell) to transform plastic waste in the oceans in yarns and fabrics. The Bionic Yarn will be used to make other products adidas Originals designed by Pharrell.
UPDATE: The first limited edition will be available on the stores from September 20th
