It’s difficult to call tartan “a trend” because it is a print that has practically always existed in the men’s wardrobe. In recent decades, however, tartan has become shy, emerging in stores either in the form of lumberjack flannel shirts or as pajama bottoms. But this print is much more.
First of all, tartan is versatile. It can go well with different garments and for different occasions: it doesn’t matter if it’s for work or a company outing, there’s really no reason why a man shouldn’t wear it.
Tartan plaid jacket: a new essential
However, tartan is also a rebellious fabric, a model preferred by grunge artists of 90s and punks of 80s, and therefore able to break the monotony of an outfit. And in fact, an easy way to incorporate tartan into your personal style, for example, is to use a tartan plaid jacket.
The beauty of a tartan plaid jacket is that it goes well with many of the items we wear on a daily basis, such as t-shirts, denim jackets, joggers or sneakers. In this outfit, for example, I used the Newchic tartan plaid jacket together with a very simple denim shirt (we all have one!) and black trousers. To ward off the cold I choose a wool beanie, while in order not to overload the look, I keep the shoes and accessories simple using simple and neutral colors such as brown.
